House of Mystery 迷之屋

3-5 August 8.30pm - 10pm

A hauntingly intimate physical theatre solo that defies traditional form, House of Mystery blends fragmented narrative with powerful, emotionally charged movement. Performed in close proximity to the audience, the piece creates a deeply immersive experience that speaks directly to the subconscious — without words.

Now in its tenth year of development, House of Mystery has been performed in courtyards, cafés, galleries, and even waterfronts. No two performances are ever alike. Under the direction of Xue Jia, the performance space is continuously reimagined: audiences become witnesses, participants, and emotional counterparts.

Like a mirror, the work reflects the inner disquiet of modern life — confusion, loneliness, suppressed desire — ultimately leading to catharsis and release.

At a time when most theatre returns to narrative clarity, House of Mystery boldly offers something else: a universal, nonverbal journey of rediscovery. It invites us to feel before we think, to sense before we speak.

Presented as part of CCW's "Stage" series, this rare and resonant work opens up a vital space for vulnerability, embodiment, and cross-cultural connection.
